Donate unwanted gift cards to Sonoma County Free Bookmobile, get a book

The lovers of literacy who operate the dandy new Sonoma County Free Bookmobile need cash to keep the truck gassed, insured and maintained. So they're inviting us to donate to the bookmobile any gift cards, gift certificates or gifts that we don't intend to use.

Bring it to the bookmobile (sonomacountybookmobile.org) between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at Santa Rosa's Finley Community Center and you'll be invited to select a book to keep.

The re-gifted gifts will be raffled or auctioned at fund-raisers by the Literary Arts Guild and Sonoma County Public Library Foundation. The money will go to the bookmobile that delivers gifts of books to rural and low-income local children, seniors and others.
