They call themselves the "Monday Morning Painters," and each week they find a special Sonoma County landscape for their outdoor artistry.

The group was started by Patrick Fanning, a local Sonoma County landscape artist. To join in the outings, just show up and paint, following the group's admonition to "please be polite" as the site is often on private property.

Painting spots this summer have included a lavender-colored barn in Kenwood, Lynmar Winery in Sebastopol, Lake Ralphine at Howarth Park and Schoolhouse Beach north of Bodega Bay.
