Two Santa Rosa men were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of growing marijuana illegally on a vacant property in Lower Lake.

Lake County sheriff's deputies seized 275 marijuana plants and a firearm from a greenhouse on the 1500 block of Joseph Trail. Antonio Hernandez-Lemus, 23, and Sylviano Fuentes, 50, were arrested and booked on suspicion of cultivating marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. Fuentes was also booked on suspicion of being armed in the commission of a felony.

They were taken to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.

Deputies said in a statement that Hernandez-Lemus denied ownership of the marijuana and said that he and Fuentes were just helping. There were medical marijuana recommendations posted on the greenhouse for two people who were not at the property at the time the deputies made the arrests, according to the statement.
