Acts of silliness encouraged
By NINA LARAMORE / Santa Rosa Correspondent
“All Acts of Silliness are encouraged and expected!!! Got a secret talent? Wanna win Cash? IT’S YOUR CHANCE TO SHINE!!!”
That’s what the Craig’s List post says about Toad in the Hole’s version of the Gong Show.
Saturday, Oct. 15, the Toad Show returns to the pub with a Gong Show stage, a Chuck Barris double and judges.
The original show was known for absurd humor, ridiculous prizes and a very few truly talented people.
“The acts can be anything,” Toad owner Paul Stokeld said.
“It’s just like the game show. Winners last year did the female shake weight commercial. We’ve had everything from unknown comedians to a South African lighting a glass of Drambuie. It’s just another excuse to show off the talents of our West End neighbors and have some fun in our community pub.”
Contestant registration starts at 8:30 p.m., and the show begins at 9 p.m.

I love how “Encouraged” is spelled incorrectly – that’s just silly ; )
