SR United winter development academy

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011 | Posted by | one response

Registration is open for the fourth annual SR United soccer winter academy and there is  a new wrinkle to the program.

For the first time, there will be bonus sessions included before the six-week programs begin in January.

The cost is $145 per youth while the cost for siblings is $99. There is also a special team rate being offered.

Clinics will be conducted at Trione Fields and begin Jan. 16.

Session for girls, ages six to 12, will be on Wednesdays with games played on Saturdays. Boys of the same ages will practice on Mondays and play games Saturdays.

There is also a session for premier players of both sexes, ages 11 through 14. That group will practice Mondays and Wednesdays. A premier player is one who has previously played competitive-level soccer.

Also new is a goalkeeping clinic for boys and girls interested in learning and developing keeper skills.

Conducting the clinics will be college and high school coaches from Sonoma County schools as well as Santa Rosa United instructors.

The last academy drew more than 250 players.

Registration forms can be printed by accessing srunited.com

Alan Finnie oversees the academy and he can be reached at wdacoordinator@srunited.com or by phone at 888-1207.

  1. Fantastic program, my kids did this for the last two year. The Santa Rosa United coaches are amazing and my players really learnt some skills over the course of the program.
