HOLIDAY LIGHTS

EDITOR: Thank you, Oliver's Market, for the wonderful display of Hanukkah

lights.

I arrived to shop at your grand opening on Stony Point and, much to my

surprise, there was a life-size menorah and people celebrating Hanukkah. It

brought tears to my eyes.

Having a Jewish family on the west side of Santa Rosa doesn't bring many

opportunities for cultural sharing, but this was a great reminder of

celebration, diversity and bringing people together.

Not enough people have open minds, as I overheard people in line

disagreeing with the outdoor festivities. Oliver's, you made the right choice

to shed ''light'' on Hanukkah, Jewish culture and tradition.

I hope this menorah can be an annual display of tolerance, light and love

in front of your store. Thank you, and happy holidays.
