Sonoma Bach will open their 2012-2013 season with a gala entitled “A Musical Cornucopia” on Thursday, Nov. 15, at Paradise Ridge Winery on 4545 Thomas Lake Harris Dr. at 7 p.m. The first hour will feature wine tasting with Paradise Ridge and appetizers from Worth Our Weight. The concert will begin around 8 p.m. and will include renowned tenor Christopher Fritzsche and members of the Live Oak Baroque Orchestra, led by violinist Elizabeth Blumenstock. All proceeds will benefit Sonoma Bach, a nonprofit arts organization. Tickets: $125. Info: 877-914-2224. www.sonomabach.org.

The South of A arts district will be hosting their 4th annual WinterBlast on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 5-8 p.m. at the intersection of South A St. and Sebastopol Ave. The holiday extravaganza will include music from local bands, open art galleries, local food vendors, a kids zone and a parade. Storytelling enthusiasts can gather for a “Tellabration!” on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 7-9 p.m. at the Glaser Center on 547 Mendocino Ave. Six professional storytellers from Napa and Sonoma Counties will participate. The Roses Signature Concert Series presents “Cantiamo Sonoma” a 17-voice a cappella concert on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church of the Roses on 2500 Patio Court. Directed by soprano Carole Menke, Cantiamo Sonoma holds a wide repertoire of music and is one of Sonoma County’s leading a cappella groups. A reception will follow the concert. The California Redwood Chorale will perform “An American Rainbow” on Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Glaser Center for the Arts on 547 Mendocino Ave at 3 p.m. The 36-voice chorale is directed by Robert Hazelrigg, and Sunday’s concert will include guest artists Michael Bolivar on saxophone and Bonnie Brooks on vocals.
