The Flamingo Hotel & Resort will host its first-ever annual New Year’s Eve Family Night on Monday, Dec. 31, at 7:30 p.m. at 2777 Fourth St. The event will provide entertainment and dining for the whole family, including childcare for tots, movies for teens, casino gaming for adults, dancing for the whole family, a deluxe New York-style buffet, a family photo booth, a late-night snack buffet and a big screen viewing of the ball drop in Times Square. Monroe Hall will host a New Year’s Eve Contra Gala on Monday, Dec. 31, from 8 p.m.-midnight at 1400 W. College Ave. The dance will feature music from the Whoots band and Grass Valley caller Joyce Miller. Festive snacks and apple cider will be served until midnight. The Health Source at KidSake is offering a two-day teen babysitting workshop Thursday and Friday, Jan. 3 and 4, from 9:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m. at 2999 Cleveland Ave., Suite C. Basic First Aid and CPR measures will be taught, along with age appropriate play and childhood stages of growth and development. The workshop will also include tips on how to set up babysitting as a business. Sack lunch recommended. Successful participants will receive CPR certification from the American Heart Association and a KidSake babysitting certificate. Course fee: $78, plus $20 curriculum cost.
