Artist Simmon Factor offers a one-day collage workshop for all experience levels from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17,  at Factor Art Studio,  285 Brey Road.  Fee is $75 at 293-6051. More info: simmonfactorart.com.

The Sonoma County Genealogical Society hosts a workshop on deeds from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Finley Community Center, 2060 W. College Ave. The workshop will explore deeds, provide hands-on learning to plot “metes and bounds” property and provide extensive handout material on the subject. Bring an old deed to the meeting to learn all you can from the single document. Free. Info: scgsonline.org.

North Bay Hootenanny’s two-day music bash is 3-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16, at the Arlene Francis Center, 99 Sixth St. The event is a family-friendly music showcase on two stages of some of the best North Bay acts, plus food, drink, a kids’ area, dance lessons and a jam room for those who would like to bring instruments. The dance lessons are from 6:30-8 p.m. each evening, and the kids’ area from 3-6 p.m. each afternoon. The Santa Rosa REI hosts a class on the basics of winter snow camping from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 2715 Santa Rosa Ave.  An experienced REI winter camper will help you learn what to take and what to expect, covering how to plan, how to stay warm and how to select appropriate gear. Sonoma County’s first Latin Jazz, Music & Dance Festival is Friday-Sunday, Feb. 15-17, at the Flamingo Resort & Spa, 2777 Fourth St. Hours are 5 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-2 a.m. Sunday. Bay Area performers will play Latin jazz and salsa, with dance lessons and wine tasting available. Tickets: $149, $119 students. Daily passes are $45-$69 , with music and dance workshops $10-$45.
