Find an Easter egg hunt for the kids

Bunnies and decorated eggs will be in great demand this weekend as towns throughout Sonoma County hold Easter egg hunts Saturday and Sunday, April 19 and 20. Here’s where to find them, along with a few more events leading up to the big day:

Santa Rosa

The Spring Egg Hunt at Howarth Park’s softball field starts at 10 a.m. Saturday and requires registration at ci.santa-rosa.ca.us, 543-3737 or Finley Community Center, 2060W. College Ave. Cost is $6 for kids up to age 5.

Oakmont hosts its annual Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. Sunday on the west golf course, 7205 Oakmont Drive, Santa Rosa. Register: 537-3670.

Cloverdale

An Easter egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson School, 315 North St., sponsored by the Cloverdale Lions Club. It’s free.

Healdsburg

Teens can make “Peep Sushi” using Peeps and other fun edibles at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Healdsburg Regional Library, 139 Piper St. Free. Info: 433-3772.

The Easter Bunny comes to Healdsburg Elementary School’s Fitch Mountain Campus, 520Monte Vista Ave., for a free egg hunt at 9 a.m. Saturday. Info: Kent at 433-2475.

Napa Valley

Soroptimist St. Helena sponsors its annual Easter egg hunt for kids ages 2-10 at 9 a.m. Saturday at Crane Park on Grayson Street, west of Highway 128 in St. Helena. Children should bring their own baskets.

Sonoma Valley

Stop at the Glen Ellen Fire Station, 13445Arnold Drive, after 2p.m. Friday to help dye Easter eggs. Or hunt for them at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dunbar School, 11700Dunbar Road, Glen Ellen. Both are free.

Soroptimist of Sonoma Valley hosts a free Easter egg hunt at 10a.m. Saturday on the Sonoma Plaza, behind City Hall.

B.R. Cohn Winery hosts an Easter egg hunt 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the winery, 15000 Highway 12, Glen Ellen. Food available from the Ultra Crepes food truck. Info: 938-4064, ext. 124. Reservations: amanda@brcohn.com.

Kids 3-12 can search for candy-filled eggs at 11 a.m. Sunday in the meadow at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, 2605 Adobe Canyon Road, Kenwood. Free admission, $8 parking fee. Reservations: sugarloaf@uccr.org or 833-6084.

Windsor

The Windsor Kiwanis Club’s annual Easter egg hunt for kids 10 and under starts at 10 a.m. Saturday on the Windsor High School soccer field, 8695 Windsor Road. Arrive 15 minutes early. Info: info@kiwaniswindsor.org.

The Windsor Certified Farmers Market celebrates Easter 10 a.m. to 1p.m. April 20 on the Town Green with the Old Redwood Highway Gospel Choir, a made-to-order brunch, baby animals and Easter bonnet making for kids. Free.
