First 5 Sonoma County Commission seeks applicants to implement programs in its strategic plan. The programs would run for three years (July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2018), with an optional two-year extension to June 30, 2020.

Requests for qualifications are due by 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 for the following:

  • AVANCE parent-child education program in one or more focus school attendance areas.
  • Mental health and education consultation to support early care and education providers.
  • Preschool scholarship program applications for funding of $400,000 per year. The total will not exceed $1.2 million for a three-year period beginning July 1, 2015 (with an option for a two-year extension).

First-5-logoAll projects are based upon funding approval from the First 5 Sonoma County Commission. It seeks to increase the availability of high quality early care and education by providing preschool scholarships for low-income families.

First 5 Sonoma County Commission was established by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors in December 1998. Its mission is to promote, support and improve the early development of children from the prenatal stage through age 5.
