Drumming delight

The Global Drum Project is what you get when you put together four amazing percussionists -- former Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart, tabla master Zakir Hussain, talking drum virtuoso Sikiru Adepoju and Afro-Cuban drummer Giovanni Hidalgo -- who will bounce their outer space sounds off the walls Friday at UC Berkeley's Zellerbach Hall.|

Global Drum, a natural evolution from Hart and Hussain's Planet Drum, is described by Sonoma County's Hart as "a sound yoga of processed acoustic percussion headed straight for the trance zone that becomes a dance of ancient and modern worlds."

The show starts at 8 p.m. $24 to $52. www.calperfs.berkeley.edu.
